Chris Hendricks is running as a Progressive Democrat to be the State Representative in the 11th Bristol District, which includes the towns of New Bedford and Acushnet. Chris was born and raised in New Bedford and attended New Bedford Public Schools. Chris received a bachelor’s degree from Temple University with a degree in History and graduated from UMass School of Law in 2014. While in law school, Chris had the opportunity to work at a firm that specializes in representing injured workers in their pursuit for workers compensation benefits. Chris began advocating for those who have a lot at stake with a lot in jeopardy. Chris continues to represent those workers seeking workers compensation benefits and in doing so has seen a society, and those with all the power, take advantage of working people on a routine basis. Chris decided to run for this office because the middle class is under attack.
Chris’ main issue areas are union rights, consumer protections, and economic fairness, and if elected, Chris hopes to be a strong leader in the State House fighting to protect these rights. Education is also an area of focus for Chris. Chris wishes to work towards achieving universal pre-k, introducing more vocational training for students, and assigning the resources to lower tuition for higher education and expand access to scholarships.
