Meg Wheeler – Mass Alliance

Meg Wheeler

Meg Wheeler is running for the Plymouth & Norfolk Senate Seat. She will tackle issues from climate change to the opioid epidemic to outdated transportation, and views the district as being threatened by ineffective leadership and the failure to protect community interests   against those of major corporations and career politicians.

She’s done non-profit work, built a business, and supported local initiatives on climate change, gun control and immigrants’ rights.

After studying Economics and Philosophy at Connecticut College, Meg went to business school at Northeastern University. She worked for four years at Grant Thornton, first in Chicago and then in Boston, in their international tax department. Meg then spent four years at Harvard Management Company, where she oversaw the global tax strategy and compliance for the Natural Resources portfolio.

Since moving to Cohasset, Meg has worked tirelessly to serve her local community and share her experiences and expertise in the service of the town. She is currently a member of the Town of Cohasset’s Advisory Committee, and serves as the Liaison to the Police and Fire departments, the Harbor Master, the Affordable Housing Committee and the Post-Employment Benefits Committee. Meg is also an active member of the Cohasset Democratic Town Committee and the South Shore Democratic Caucus.

After spending nearly ten years working in public accounting and at Harvard University’s endowment, Meg left to start her first company, One For Women, an online media company, podcast and community to provide women with the resources, guidance and inspiration to support other women. Meg also offers business strategy and financial consulting for small businesses.

With this election, she sees the chance to make change in the community, and hopes to represent all community members.
