Are you excited about progressive issues and eager to take an active role in Massachusetts politics?
Have you worked on any local campaigns or are you interested learning more about grassroots campaigning experience?
If you find yourself drawn to community education and advocacy and are looking for an internship this fall, Mass Alliance might be the perfect fit for you!
Mass Alliance: Mass Alliance is a coalition of 28 organizations working to advance progressive politics in Massachusetts. Our organizations represent a variety of interests such as: worker’s rights, environmental protection, reproductive freedom, and civil rights. Along with education and advocacy, Mass Alliance endorses and supports progressive candidates for state legislature. In the fall of 2015, Mass Alliance will be supporting a handful of progressive pipeline candidates at the municipal level.
Internships: Mass Alliance is looking for highly motivated interns who are eager to take an active role in progressive Massachusetts politics. Interns will become familiar with the structure of local politics and will have the opportunity to meet leaders behind some of the best campaigns in Massachusetts politics. Additionally, interns will learn about many progressive public policy areas through contact with the member organizations (listed on the side). Job responsibilities include candidate recruitment, attending meetings, events, and trainings, political research, district analysis, candidate interviews, possible work directly on campaigns, and various office duties.
In particular, interns for the fall of 2015 will be helping to plan our biggest annual post-election celebration event with our “Progressive Champions” in November. Internships are available for a variety of schedules. A commitment to progressive politics is the only firm requirement. Campaign, political, or other organizing experience appreciated, but not required. Please submit resumes and cover letters to Jordan@MassAlliance.org
