Mass Alliance was thrilled to endorse Mike Connolly in his run for the 26th Middlesex District House seat. As an attorney, community organizer, and proud progressive Democrat, Mike Connolly has already shown his dedication to progressive ideals and practical solutions to the issues faced by Somerville and Cambridge residents.
Once a child raised in public housing and the foster system, Mike graduated from Duke University and received a law degree from Boston College Law School. He then served as managing editor for a progressive law journal, became a licensed attorney, and worked for a global technology company. Despite his success, he noticed that many of his childhood peers were not so lucky and have ended up incarcerated, out of work, on the streets, or victims of the heroin and opioid epidemics. Mike did not believe this was something we should just accept in Massachusetts.
Mike knows that with new leadership we can do a better job addressing the challenges our communities face. We can make broader investments in affordable housing, public transportation, early education, afterschool programs, and other critical services. These investments would help make his story less of the exception and more of the rule. Mike believes that this and future generations deserve that chance.
